TRANSFER - Leamington sign Prosser on permanent deal

Leamington Editorial 20th Jun, 2022   0

LEAMINGTON FC have signed Alex Prosser on a permanent deal from Brackley Town.

Prosser becomes boss Paul Holleran’s second singing of the summer after Ben Usher-Shipway arrived on a free transfer earlier in the window.

The 23-year-old midfielder made eight appearances for the Brakes last season before injury cut his loan spell short at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.

Alex began his career at Aston Villa but has had plenty of experience in the National League North having spent two spells at Brackley and also a season with Kidderminster Harriers.

Holleran said: “Alex is obviously somebody that we were aware of from his loan with us last season.

“He was just a bit unfortunate that he developed an injury early on during his time with us, he was someone that we really liked.

“He has been in the area for a number of years with Kidderminster and Brackley, and is probably different to what we’ve got [in midfield].

“He’s a real good character and will be disappointed with last year and the injuries but he’s in good condition now, he’s ready to go, and we’re hoping that he can have a big impact for us.

“As a person, he fits into what we want at the football club. We saw little signs of what he can do last time he was here but sadly it was short lived due to the injury.

“Hopefully, we’ll get longer periods out of him this time, and I’m sure he’ll be a good asset to the club.”

Prosser added: “It’s a group that I know well from my short spell last season that I really enjoyed.

“The staff, players and people around the club give me the belief that we can go and have a really strong season this year.”

Prosser began his career with Aston Villa before enjoying spells with both Brackley and Kidderminster Harriers in the National League North.
