ROYAL Leamington Spa Cycling Club dominated the podium at the eighth event of the Corley Cycles Summer Series recently.
Hosted at the Milton Keynes Bowl, the closed circuit event proved a successful one for the club, with three of RLSCC’s riders taking to the track for the category four race.
The team stayed huddled together throughout the race, and launched a breakaway just before the halfway mark, after another competitor had broken early and forced them to go on the offensive sooner than anticipated.
By the halfway mark, Leamington were over 30 seconds in front, and went on to lap the entire field towards the tail end of the race.
Denis Zaboronsky sprinted to the finish in first, followed by club mates Stelios Maragkos in second and Emile Glorieux in third – completing a black and yellow podium of Royal Leamington Spa cyclists.
Gerard Scott was also in action for the category three event, coming home in 23rd.
