RACING Club Warwick chairman Gary Vella looked back on a successful year for the club in his Christmas message to the club’s stakeholders.

The Racers enjoyed a memorable 2023/24 campaign which ended in promotion to the Northern Premier League Midlands division following a play-off final victory against Aylestone Park.

Warwick also reached the Birmingham Senior Cup final and Vella plans to invest more funds next year to further support the club’s growing infrastructure.

Vella said: “It has been both a fantastic and successful year for the club.

“I would, as always, like to thank our supporters for their backing throughout the year and what a year. Promotion from Step Five after that scintillating play-off final back in April was testament to all of the hard work put into the club over the past few years.

“Oh, and of course, the little matter of a Birmingham Senior Cup final against Aston Villa, who’s home advantage in the final tipped the odds in their favour, I jest of course.

“But what an end to a fantastic season beating Leamington, Birmingham and Solihull Moors along the way.

“It was, for all connected to this great club, a statement on where we want to be moving forwards. We took over 1,000 fans to Villa Park and ended the season with an average gate of over 300, which for Step Five is just astounding.

“We have had another record-breaking year for season tickets with well over two hundred sold and attendances this season are again over the 300 mark.

“We have yet to face the big boys like Worcester and Corby who will help to push that average up. As a thanks to our loyal support, the game on Saturday against Boldmere will be free entry to all.

“Thanks to the management team for helping to move us forward with exciting football on the pitch and professionalism off it.

“This club’s aims are nowhere near achieved yet and with several hundred thousand pounds of investment in 2025 with new changing facilities, classrooms and hospitality and plans for a new 500 seater stand in the pipeline for next season, we will keep moving onwards and upwards.”
